BUILD THE BABES PLAN
Step-by-Step

Fabulous event! It was our great fortune to present master builders Wayne Wangler, David Raphael and Steve Aldrich in a rich and informative discussion about constructing a Safe Home Shelter. No matter what you plan to
build, a dome, treasure chest or Babes Universal Building Plans , the soon to be released DVD of this event is a must have!
Participants were led through the construction process step-by-step, which
included details from the ground up with particular attention on services for water and airflow pipe connections and support.
Continental Breakfast and Lunch were served

Our location was the Lodge overlooking Lake Lawrence. What a manifestation! Finding a place on a Sunday these days is not that easy. A new phenomenon has sprung up in this area, and perhaps across the nation. Public buildings and community halls are filling with churches on Sundays!
The Lake Lawrence Lodge rents for $1500, but the operations manager, Sharon Gray, came to our rescue. Many thanks to the Lodge for providing this budding non-profit with a beautiful setting for a fraction of the cost.

Coffee,
tea and fresh baked berry poundcake (from the store) were provided for a sweet breakfast treat at the coffee bar.
Nancy took
charge in the kitchen heating up a delicious meal of lazagna, fresh
salad, toasted garlic bread and fresh cut pinapple with the help of volunteer Paulette Alaena (pictured right) That's Nancy in the background.

The Bone Mama (Mary McCann) and builder Steve Aldrich
|
Our builders
shared the stage with "The Bone Mama" to begin a perfect afternoon of detailed presentations. The program ran like clockwork giving each the opportunity to
express what they came to share.
David Raphael had a field day at the drawing board (below left). Many sought more knowledge submitting questions on 3x5 cards,
which kept the event moving at an even pace for the camera.
Lunch presented time to discuss more details (Wayne Wangler below center).

As you can see, Babes at Work also have fun!
So far the only picture of Nancy Popielarczyk is of her back working in the kitchen, but we could not have done this without her dedication and much needed coordinating talent.
Board members Liz Nauman and Helene Goslin manned the sales table during break sharing lunch with volunteer Paulette Aleana. Many thanks!

The group on whole was very satisfied with the knowledged presented and filled themselves with good food and good company, too.
Many thanks to volunteers Sherry Milczewski and Charlene for assisting with parking, and Diane Binder for all around volunteer help.
I have to admit the one getting the spotlight of the day was Wayne's now famous swing joint. If you don't know about this handy item you have truely missed something important!
