ICF Construction
Logix and Babes Partnership
Babes in Belts has partnered with Logix Insulated Concrete Forms to construct safe shelters designed to withstand unpredictable Earth change. There are many ICF Systems, but Logix is the one with a 12" thick wall form. We believe thicker than conventional walls could be needed to guarantee sustainability. Aside from making a safe shelter long lasting and sustainable, ICFs add value as a “green” system for construction, too. ICFs are:
· Quick to build - with do-it-yourself capability
· Lightweight - women and children can handle them
· Soundproofed and super energy-efficient
· Safe environment with no off gassing
· 4 hour fire rating
· Walls can be made 12” thick - as in our shelter design
· Withstands natural disasters
We hired a professional designer and engineer to create Babes Universal Building Plans
with addendums. Plans consist of a new home construction with basement
shelter and an underground shelter engineered for 2 feet of earth cover
in two sizes. We have added a safe room shelter constructed under a
workshop addition and a third shelter engineered with the ICF ceiling.
The plans come with the Build the Babes Plan Step-by-Step DVD 2-disk set and estimated costs for construction to facilitate the homebuilder.
