One of the fastest growing sectors

in the construction industry is

Insulated Concrete Forms (ICFs).

These forms, which are modular blocks made of Expanded Polystyrene (EPS) are used to build concrete walls, floors, and ceilings, for both residential and commercial applications (above and below grade). Women can work with this product readily, as ICF construction is lightweight.

What is covered in every workshop is

· Footing Preparation

· Demonstration of Basics

· Above and Below Grade Applications

· Installation of Electrical and Plumbing

· Code Application

· Waterproofing

· Multi-Story Applications

· Interior and Exterior Wall Finishes

· Learn how ICFs contribute to our Environment, Energy, Value and Safety

Babes in  Belts has sponsored seven Installers Workshops with Logix representative George Volker over the past two years. With the support of Logix and George Volker's generous donations of the door charge to Babes we were able to educate and train hundreds of community members in building with insulated concrete forms. These workshops not only made construction easy to understand, but inspired many women with an "I can do this" attitude.

We owe a lot to George and Logix. Thank You!
